Please note that Bath City Centre can become very congested on weekends – please allow plenty of time for your journey to the Theatre.

Where is the Theatre Royal?

Theatre Royal Bath is on Sawclose. It is about 10 minutes walk from Bath Spa Train Station and Bath Bus Station. The entrance to the Ustinov Studio is on Monmouth Street and the egg is on St John’s Place.

The Theatre Royal Bath continues to make the safety and security of its customers and staff a priority.  As such, please bear in mind that we are undertaking security checks, so recommend you arrive at the Theatres in good time to avoid queues, and refrain from bringing suitcases, rucksacks and large bags into the Theatre. There is no parking at the Theatre itself, however, there are several large car parks within walking distance of the Theatre, including Charlotte Street, Avon Street and Southgate. All charge for evening parking – Charlotte Street £1.50 after 6pm; Southgate approx. £2 per evening, and Avon Street approx. £5 per evening (when last checked).

Blue Badge parking – At present, there are no Blue Badge spaces outside the theatre, due to the Sawclose development. However, Blue Badge Holders can park in Resident bays, Pay and Display road bays and in Charlotte Street car park – all  Free of Charge and for an unlimited time

The Theatre Royal Bath can be found by following the brown tourist & pedestrian sign posts, and is no more than 10-15 minutes walk from any of the car parks listed.

Please note, traffic around Bath City Centre can be very busy during weekends, especially on Saturday afternoons, and particularly when other events are taking place, e.g. Bath Rugby matches, Bath Festivals, Christmas Market, etc. Please allow plenty of time for parking and getting to the theatre at these times.  Matinee audiences may wish to make use of one of the three park and ride schemes which service the City Centre from Lansdown, Odd Down and Newbridge. All drop-off and collection points are within easy walking distance of the Theatre Royal.

Tickets for wheelchair patrons: £10.

Wheelchair spaces are available in the Stalls and Royal Circle at a reduced price. There is lift access from the Theatre foyer to the Royal Circle and Stalls levels.

Patrons eligible for audio-described and signed facilities: £10

If signed performances are available, it is essential to book for them a minimum of two weeks prior to the show date.

Please note, to access the Theatre’s Sennheiser enhanced hearing system and audio-descriptions, patrons must obtain a headset, available free of charge from any of the Theatre bars. There is no hearing loop accessible via patron’s own hearing aids.
